Kundan, in the meantime, is still obsessed based on her and has been unable to move on. By the time Zoya comes back to Varanasi, Kundan reinvites her, but is again she turned down. She discloses the affair she has with Akram and that she wants to marry him.

Even though he is broken hearted, Kundan is willing to assist Zoya persuade her family to accept Akram. In a desperate bid to demonstrate that he has moved on, Kundan promises to marry his childhood friend Bindiya who is in love with him and has been silent about it all these years.

On the day of Zoya marriage, Kundan realizes that Akram is a Sikh pretending to be a Muslim, which is Jasjeet Singh. Kundan reveals the truth to act out of rage and jealousy. Thing backfires and Jasjeet is brutally assaulted and Zoya tries to commit suicide. The very wedding between Kundan and Kundani falls apart and he is disowned by his family.
