Plot

Gadar 2 is set during Indo-Pak War in the year 1971; years after the events of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. In India, Tara Singh resides with his wife, Sakeena and their son, Charanjeet, commonly called Jeete, in peace. Tara is still helping the Indian Army with transport needs and Jeete has a dream of becoming a Bollywood actor – something his father is not fond of.One day, when things at the border get hot, Tara is dispatched to bring supplies to the frontline, and disappears after a violent explosion. Jeete thinks that his father has been taken prisoner by the Pakistan Army, and sets out to go into Pakistan clandestinely himself.

During the perilous journey, he takes refuge in the hands of a family well-wisher named Kurban Khan, and falls in love with Khan’s daughter Muskaan. Meanwhile, Tara manages to escape the first attack and heads safely back to India only to find that Jeete had vanished and goes to find him in Pakistan. Not wanting to leave his son, Tara returns to enemy territory where he has to battle a strong military force headed by a Pakistani general seeking revenge. The mission becomes a race of emotions against time, a display of courage, sacrifice and determination of a father to return his son home.
