Baby John is an Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Kalees. The movie was released on 25 December 2024. Before its release, the audience was aware that it was a remake of Atlee’s 2016 Tamil Film Theri. The movie stars Varun Dhawan, alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Zara Zyanna and Jackie Shroff. In fact, Keethy Suresh made her Hindi film debut with this Baby John movie. This movie was first officially announced in the year 2023 under the tentative title VD18 and then the official title was revealed in February 2024. The Principal photography for the movie took place in Mumbai and Kerala, which commenced in August 2023 and ended in October 2024. The music of this movie was composed by Thaman S, with cinematography done by Kiran Koushik and editing by Ruben.
Finally, this movie was then theoretically released on December 25, 2024, coinciding with Christmas, to mixed-to-negative reviews and bombed at the Baby John Collection box office.

Plot of Baby John Movie
John D’Silva, who owns a bakery, resides in Kerala with his daughter Khushi and his close friend Jackie. John becomes friends with Khushi’s instructor Tara, who ultimately develops feelings for him. During a church visit with John and Tara, Khushi instigates a sex-trafficking gang in search of their target, but John swiftly calms the situation. Tara spots a victim of the mob in hiding and conceals her in the trunk of their car, without John and Khushi’s knowledge, then drives to the police station to make a report. During the night, the gang shows up at John’s house to murder Khushi, prompting John to resort to violence and take out the goons. Tara ultimately discovers that John is DCP Satya Verma and reaches John’s position right as he triumphs over the goons. Jackie, whose actual name was HC Ram Sevak and a friend of Satya Verma, discovers that Tara is an undercover officer and her true identity is Adhira Verman. Jackie begins to recount John’s history to her.

The original background score and soundtrack were created by Thaman S in his solo Hindi debut, with lyrics contributed by Irshad Kamil, Adviteeya Vojjala, Ritesh G. Rao, Rajakumari, and Abhiruchi Chand. The initial single named “Nain Matakka” came out on 25 November 2024. The second release, “Pikley Pom,” debuted on 6 December 2024. The third single, titled “Bandobast,” was launched on 14 December 2024. The fourth single, “Hazaar Baar,” was issued on 19 December 2024. The fifth single, called “Beast Mode,” was unveiled on 22 December 2024. The film’s album was launched on 14 January 2025 by Zee Music Company.
